The new generation of Reconfigurable Machine Tools

Up today all the available linear drivers, screw lead, magnetic linear actuator, belts, etc., have a fundamental limit, precisely the length of the axis must be decided during the design of the machine tool.

This limit prevents any change the geometrical dimansion of the machine tool after the machine tools have been designed and built.

The new generation of Reconfigurable Machine Tools overcome this limit by using a new linear driver invented by ProFacere President Alessandro Bruzzone and developed by the company founders and managers Margherita Monti and Ivan Rosciano.

R&D Activities

Profacere deeply believes in innovation and develops numerous R&D activities in order to overcome the established habits of the manufacturing world

Innovative mechanical solutions

The development of innovative kinematic systems, combined with a modular approach to transfer to hardware the well known flexibility typical of the software

New Business models

The innovation of profiling involves the development of business models that want to overcome the current ones used in the manufacturing world

Advanced control software

A new Multi-Agent software is under development. It will run on Arduino and Raspberry Boards, leading to a new open manifacturing platform

Our Patent Applications

Profacere has developed two patent applications in collaboration with the University of Genoa, and is working to further protect the technologies being developed

Modular frame structure for machining center

The invention concerns a standardized and modular frame structure for work centers, such as reconfigurable machine tools, which integrates both the structural function to support the devices mounted on the work center as well as the distribution of the process fluids, e.g. metalcutting liquids or gases, necessary to carry out the machining processes performed by aforementioned devices.
